Aboriginal Genome Shows Two-Wave Settlement of Asia
Human sample hair has gone from being stored in a drawer, to resulting in the first complete genome of an Aboriginal. British anthropologist Alfred Cort Haddon did this astonishing research throughout the world to further support his ethnographic studies of native people. Luckily, enough DNA was obtained in his research to provide a good look of what the origins of the Aboriginal are. They are now said to be the oldest continuous populations outside of Africa.
'Bionic' Bacteria Created In Lab
Surprisingly, two current worldwide problems, disease and global warming, can be combated with artificially enhanced bacteria. With this bacteria, both synthetic drugs, and biofuels, can be created and used to fight these critical problems. Researchers in La Jolla, CA have created bacteria that can make "unnatural"amino acids which add on to the existing 20 amino acids. . This is an important research since it can benefit the planet in two different ways. Drugs can last longer in the blood stream, and chemicals can be manufactured in a way that helps the environment.
Diseased fish found in Australian harbor
It is not just humans who get affected by stress but apparently fish do as well. Due to this stress and fungus , fish get contaminated with red-spot disease. The Queensland coast in Australia has been affected by the fish resulting in the banning of sport fishing. Aside from this disease, the fish are showing a reaction to a parasite which causes their eyes to become cloudy. The fishing ban will temporarily not be removed until thorough examinations of the water have been done.
